1953 Wolverine, White 3000 Mustang Dump Truck in Original Box
Superb flywheel driven, embossed pressed steel dump truck. Complete with original color box. Old store stock never played with or removed from original box. Unusual design based on the actual full size truck. Features the authentic "White" truck logo. Brilliant yellow, red, and green lithographed steel featuring a rearing Mustang horse on both cab doors. Doors are also embossed and outlined. Additional embossing includes overhead cab lights, head lights, parking lights, and striated front grille. Heavy tread tires are solid rubber with metal hubs. Dump bed is manually raised with protruding lever and rear tailgate swing hinged to allow for emptying. Partially sealed flywheel friction motor connected to front axle propels truck forward or reverse. One push keeps it moving continuously for several feet on a smooth surface. Beautifully constructed and solid as a rock. This is the only classic style truck (i.e., similar to Marx, Wyandotte, etc). produced by Wolverine that I'm aware of. The company did manufacture other steel truck models, but those were made using their standard one-piece block forms. The original red, white, and blue box shows two very attractive repeating illustrations. One of these shows a classic 50's style drawing of a boy playing with the truck.
